IN NEED OF HOT AND COLD// SMOOTHIE BOWL & OATMEAL
We couldn’t decide if we wanted a creamy cold smoothie bowl or steaming hot oatmeal for breakky so we made both:
Blueberry Smoothie Bowl with Cinnamon Peanut Butter Oatmeal
2 people 10 minutes
Oatmeal:
- 1 1/4 cup of oats
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 cups almond milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon salted crunchy peanut butter
- 1 teaspoon maple syrup/agave(only if you’re not topping your oatmeal with dark chocolate)
How: Add all the ingredients one by one and mix over medium heat. If you’re using 1 min quick oats pay attention cause it’ll be done in less than 3 minutes. If normal rolled oats, keep stirring for 5-7 minutes. You might have to add more milk or water.
Smoothie Bowl - In blender:
- 2 frozen bananas cut up in 6 chunks and frozen for at least 4 hours
- 4 dates
- Handful of frozen or normal blueberries
- 1 tablespoon peanut butter
- 1 teaspoon chia seeds(optional, makes you fuller for longer)
- 1 tablespoon almond/oat milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
How: Blend top ingredients in a Nutriblast or other blender till it has the consistency of ice cream, if its too liquidy add another frozen banana chunk or a date, too ‘stiff’ more milk, little by little. Serve the oatmeal in your bowl and immediately top it with dark chocolate(and watch it melt ahhhh) Add the ice cream as well as the remaining toppings.
Topping for both:
- 1/2 dark chocolate chips
- 1/4 tablespoon coconut flakes
- 1/3 cup blue berries
We use dates in smoothie bowls and sometimes oatmeal as a substitute for syrups and sugar as it is a naturally fibre rich dried sweet fruit. When we’re topping oatmeal with chocolate we don’t use any sweetener at all.

Enjoy!
